At LILIHAN we will massages a gentle soap deep into the fibers of the rug. A hot rinse and water retraction process is followed by an average of three to five days drying time.
In about a week, we will have your rug back in place, restored and looking magnificent.

~ Repair & Restoration ~

Repair of Hand Made and Machine Made Rugs with tears, worn areas, cigarette burns, etc. Repair and restoration may require and include sewing, re-weaving portions of the rug, or in some cases setting in patches cannibalized from other rugs. In order to achieve the closest possible match in the colors of wool yarn used in the repair work, we often custom dye wool to match the work. This important detail sets us apart from a majority of repair shops in the United States.
Rug repair and restoration services are priced according to the level of damage. Rug (and Kilim) damage is often assessed and ranked in one of the following three categories:

Light Damage :
Fringe and/or side border is lightly damaged or torn. Main rug area (pile) and warp are not damaged and remain intact.

Moderate Damage :
Small cuts or tears, high traffic wear or moth damage.

Major Damage :
Damage caused by fire. Damage or rotting, caused by chemicals or water. Large cuts and tears. This category usually entails moderate to major damage to warp and knots.
